On
November 4, 1952, members of the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation Executive
and staff established the Teachers Credit Union (now TCU Financial Group) to provide financial services
to Saskatchewan's teachers. It is now one of the largest credit unions in the
province, with $200 million in assets, serving over 17,000 members through offices
in Saskatoon and Regina.
In
addition to providing financial services to teachers, TCU Financial Group supports
the dedication of teachers and the pursuit of excellence in their profession -
as personified by Dr. Stirling McDowell. In becoming a founding corporate donor,
TCU Financial Group states:
"We
are pleased to participate as a founding sponsor of the foundation, so that his
values and goals can be pursued through teaching research and practice in classrooms
throughout our province, and beyond. We applaud all educators who endeavor each
day to provide the very best in learning and opportunities for our children." |
